AfricAid, KISA project Case Study

AfricAid is a not-for-profit organization that supports girls’ education in Africa in order to provide young women with the opportunity to transform their own lives and the futures of their communities.

When they came to ALM Design they wanted to design a social networking site and related printed materials for the Kisa Project, a groundbreaking AfricAid initiative that directly links individuals, families and groups in the U.S. with some of Africa’s brightest young women.

Inspired by the imagery from AfricAids work and the potential of a social networking site, ALM Design put together the information architecture and design structure for their project to build and grow against. Though still in technical development, September 20th, 2009 saw the Red Rocks event launch of this project and the response was excellent. The design successfully helped communicate this compelling project through the stories of the people involved.
